Par-Coeur Addition

The first step is to know the addition tables. This is what is proposed in the first group of games. The principle is the same as for the multiplications. A tree grows as correct answers are given and loses its leaves with each mistake. During a clear round, a bird enters the screen and goes around the tree.

Two modes are proposed for learning:

  • Initiation to tables: This mode arranges the operations of the table worked on the screen, asks questions on it and with each answer just makes the operation of the table disappear. The question will be asked again a little later. And in case of an error, the operation is put back on the screen in the table. Each operation is thus asked three times (and more if errors). This mode is really intended for learning.
  • Addition: This mode is much more direct than the previous one. The answers to the operations are only displayed when an error is entered. Operations are asked only once (unless errors are entered).

Challenges

Several games are proposed as a challenge:

  • the challenge which proposes the ten additions which poses the most difficulties to the player.
  • the addition in column which allows to review how to add two numbers, with the deductions to be made, etc...
  • The hole addition which is an introduction to subtraction.
  • The subtraction which proposes to make subtractions in line from already known tables.
  • The column addition with holes.
  • the magic square. It is of size 3x3 and must be filled properly knowing that the sums of the numbers of each row, each column and each diagonal are equal.
